Lawyer or accountant in Cyprus: common questions

How do I find a lawyer in Cyprus?
Check membership of the Cyprus Bar Association first — it is independently verifiable and it is the line between a lawyer and someone offering legal-sounding help. Then narrow by the matter itself, since conveyancing, immigration and company work are different practices.
Do I need a lawyer to buy property in Cyprus?
You are not obliged to use one, but conveyancing here involves title checks, contract deposition at the Land Registry and, for non-EU buyers, Council of Ministers permission. Each of those has a deadline, and the cost of missing one is far above the fee.
When does a Cypriot company need an audit?
Cypriot companies file audited accounts, and the audit must be signed by an ICPAC-registered practitioner. The thresholds and filing dates are set out on the audit pages with the source for each.
How much do legal and accounting services cost in Cyprus?
Fees vary by matter and by firm. Where a range is published here, the basis is stated with it: quotes collected against a defined scope, with the count beside them, or an indicative level with the publication it was taken from. For anything specific, one form here reaches up to five registered firms in your district at no cost.
